Ló͘-bah-pn̄g 台灣滷肉飯

Last weekend we went to my local Asian grocery store and I found the pork belly and the pork skin, of course I grab them both right away without a second thought.

It’s more like the stuff that’s not on your shopping list but you know you will get it when you see it no matter what.

I know I’m going to make one of my favorite Taiwanese cuisine Ló•-bah-pn̄g

What is Ló•-bah-pn̄g? this is what I found on internet :

Ló•-bah-pn̄g (魯肉飯, lǔròu fàn) - minced, cubed, or ground fatty pork, stewed in soy sauce and spices, then served on rice. It is also very typical in Taiwanese cuisine that people add flavor to the boiled or steamed vegetable with the ló•-bah sauce, and even a stew boiled egg with it. A few side dishes like pickled pumpkin, cabbage, cucumber and so on, are also served along with ló•-bah-pn̄g. The sauce of the dish gives it nice flavor with a note of sweetness and saltiness that comes from the pickles. This is one of those dishes that are simple in appearance, but rich in taste, being just delicious and affordable to anyone.

I’m glad I brought my TaTung Rice cooker, very useful helper, from Taiwan so that I can make this wonderful cuisine at home.

My kids enjoy this dish as well, maybe one day we can all go back to Taiwan and try this again!
